These heavy-duty wood lathe shields are designed for manual wood lathes or similar machines (such as small metalworking lathes). They serve two basic functions: (1) they provide a barrier between individuals and point-of-operation or hazards, and (2) they protect individuals from flying chips as well as minimize the possibility of injury from a thrown workpiece. The mounting bracket attaches directly to the backside of the machine bed. The shield hinges back and rests at a 45° angle, making it easy to change the workpiece.
For additional protection, the backside of the lathe can be safeguarded with an optional rear shield.
The wood lathe shield assemblies consist of the 3/16"- or ¼"-thick (0.177" or 0.236" ± 10%) polycarbonate shield, steel mounting brackets, hinge(s), fasteners, and safety sign. The rear shield assemblies consist of the 3/16"- or ¼"-thick (0.177" or 0.236" ± 10%) polycarbonate shield, fasteners, and safety sign.
Our wood lathe shields are proudly made in the United States of America!
